How to set a Tinder profile

Tinder is one of the largest social media apps focused in finding the perfect match for romantic encounters. There are currently about 25 million matches happening daily in the app. The numbers are impressive, really, especially if we consider that many people who are registered there had never tried relationship websites before.
There is no doubt that Tinder represents a great revolution on the way people get to know each other. Right after it was released, back in 2012, the app became popular among university students, rapidly catching the attention of a variety of other people.
Tinder is simple, which doesn’t mean it’s not worth the try. There are some details that may be just what you need to find the woman of your dreams online instead of spending yet another night alone at home.
Science has unraveled a few tricks that tend to increase your chances with that special babe from Tinder. Check them out:
Have at least 4 or 5 photos
Currently, Tinder allows you to post up to 6 photos, the first being your profile images, and the other 5 being part of your personal album. If a chick finds your profile picture interesting, she’ll certainly check your other photos.
Not using that space to show her a bit more is a big mistake. When you post an only photo, chances are you’ll be swiped to the left much, much more.
The color red can help
Red is a special color, and it might become handy on Tinder. A study revealed that women find men more attractive when they are wearing red in a picture. Go for it!
Pick “clean” photos
No hats, sunglasses or any other accessory that may cover your face. Sociologist Jessica Carbino works at Tinder, and has told ABC that even regular glasses must go when you take a picture that’ll be part of your profile.
Fill out your description
In a recent interview, Latin America’s Tinder’s marketing director, Andrea Lorio, has revealed an interesting information: “Those who skip writing their descriptions on Tinder have 50% less chances of finding a match.”
If you were still wondering if filling out your description, now you’ve got the answer. Write something interesting there!
Avoid clichès
Writing about yourself is compulsory, but please about the cheesy clichès. No description in other languages, no sentences of books you’ve never read, no saying you’re there looking for the love of your life.
Instead, try to be original. Tell them what you like to do on your free time, your hobbies, places you’ve been to.
You’re being analyzed, smile!
Smiling is a synonym for being friendly, right? Make sure you post photos in which you are smiling, you’ll certainly be seen as a more accessible, gentle human being.
Careful with your group photos
No matter how good you look in that nightclub picture with your friends, don’t add it to your Tinder profile. Women are trying to find out if your worth it, they don’t want to try and guess which one of the guys you are.
Use your pet
Researches say that having photos at the park, with trees behind you and your dog beside you is a great way to impress women. Apparently, these images say that you’re a friendly guy, who cares about others.
Show why you’re there
Talk about you and your preferences in your description, but save some space to say what you’re actually looking for there. The ideal is to save about 30% of the available characters to describe what you want with the app.
And a final tip, some researchers believe that the “profile should be a balance between the comprehensively honest and a positive self presentation.”
