Tips to buy the right boat
If you like sailing, Brazil is the perfect country! There are over 45.000 km of rivers, bays, lakes, including 8.500 km of navigable atlantic coast. Having a boat is the dream of many, but there are some details that should be considered before you buy your own - maximum and minimum power, outboard size, places you want to visit. Besides, there are several models, applications and prices.
If this is the first time you’re doing this, here are a few tips that should help you choose the perfect boat for your needs:
Size: there are boats for all tastes, from those who love nautical sports to the ones who are after a good time with friends. If your intention is to gather friends, we recommend bigger boats. Now, if you’re more into relaxing and fishing, a boat which has from 16 to 33 feet might be just the one.
Prow: the prow (the boat’s front) must be considered. Closed prows allow you to spend the night, whereas open prows give you a better view during navigation.
Engine: small boats only take gasoline engines. Bigger models are equipped with diesel engines, but there are the ones who accept both fuels.
Maintenance: maintenance costs must be considered, especially because there are also costs regarding mandatory fees, as well as parking.
Noise levels: there are several factors that contribute to a noisy boat - vibration, structure, among others. Not all engines are the same.
Weight: a heavy boat may be stronger and more comfortable, but you’ll certainly need a better engine if you wish to go as fast as a lighter version.
Warranty: pay attention to what’s included and what’s not (engine, cask, components, accessories…). This is definitely a very important aspect when making a decision.
With these tips, it’s going to be much easier for you to choose the perfect boat for your needs! Have fun overseas, with quality and safety.
