Hyundai and Uber feature flying car

Developed in partnership with Uber, the idea is to turn it into an air travel sharing network.
Hyundai presented at CES 2020 its life-size prototype of the Personal Air Vehicle (PAV). With a capacity for five people, it has a cruising speed of 180 m/ h at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters.

Equipped with 12 propellers, fully designed to take off vertically just like a helicopter, making the horizontal flight transition like an airplane. According to the company, the use of small electric engines of the aircraft less noisy.

Its range is 60 miles on one battery charge, recharging in seven minutes between flights. Hyundai will produce and deploy air vehicles, while Uber will provide support service - through sharing air travel.

The first cities to receive the novelty will be Los Angeles, California, Dallas, Texas, and other locations on the east coast. No tests have yet been performed with the flying Uber, the commercial operation should start in 2023.
