Kombi will be relaunched with electric

Volkswagen will re-launch the classic Kombi with an electric motor, automatic transmission and 200 km autonomy.
Named E-Bulli, the electric version of the Kombi T1 from 1966 R $ 353, starting at $75,000. The new model presents the Samba Bus body, version sold in Germany with roof windows, the difference is in its 63 hp and 21.6 kgfm electric motor.
Its top speed was raised to 130 kph( 80 mph ). The automatic Kombi counts with just one gear (as usual in electric cars), it is still possible to choose the level of energy regeneration during braking.

The gearbox and engine are allocated at the rear, just like in the traditional Kombi. In the electric version, the 45 kWh battery gives the car a 200 km range with a full charge in 40 minutes.

Bringing more comfort to passengers, the chassis have also been changed. E-Bulli has multilink front and rear suspension, coil supports, new steering system, adjustable shock absorbers and four ventilated disc brakes.

In addition to the headlights now in LED, the automatic shift lever inside has the same color as the upholstery. The tablet acts as a multimedia center and also has a radio in retro style, but with super current functions.
