The new Porsche 911 Targa 992

With a virtual launch in Europe, Porsche presented the first details of the new generation 911 Targa.

The convertible features will be offered in two configurations: Targa 4 and Targa 4S, both with four-wheel drive. The model, which is inspired by the 1965 original, has a rear porthole and metallic arch. Its hard top takes about 19 seconds to open or close.

As for the engine, it will be the same for both models: 3.0 six-cylinder opposed and supercharged by turbo - delivering 385 hp of power and 45.9 of torque. In the Targa 4S, this power increases to 450 hp with torque at 54 kgfm, the seven-speed manual transmission is optional with the Sport Chrono package.

The adaptive option system is included within the new equipment, this mechanism allows to lift the front part of the car - thus improving the view in relation to the ground. GPS navigation prepares the Porsche for changes in topography and altitude.

Accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, the Targa 4's performance can reach a top speed of 289 km / h. The 4S model is more powerful, fulfilling 3.6 seconds ((with the PDK gearbox) with a maximum of 304 km / h.
