Opel Manta now in electric version
Classic car from Opel in the 70s reappears in the electric version inspired by the Chevette.
The Brazilian Chevrolet was inspired by the cars of Opel, a German brand that was part of General Motors, to create the pioneer Opala to the Meriva and Zafira minivans. Now, Opel has unveiled an electric car concept reminiscent of Chevrolet's Chevette Shark, the Manta GSe ElektroMOD.
Inspired by the 1st generation car, which was produced between 1970 and 1975, the novelty incorporates an electric motor with a power of 147 horsepower - out of pure nostalgia - while maintaining the four-speed manual transmission. The “Electric Chevette” is rear-wheel drive and equipped with a 31 kilowatt-hour battery.. With an appearance very similar to GM's national classic, the novelty combines the retro model with a lot of modernity. It has a multimedia center, interior with two high-resolution screens, with 12″ and 10″, headlights and LED flashlights. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD can run up to 200 km on just one charge.
As it is a concept model, we still don't know when the novelty will be available for sale.
