All about the new DeLorean
The famous car from the movie 'Back to the Future' will be re-released. Now in the electric version and its production will be only 88 units.
Who doesn't remember the sports classic DeLorean DMC-12, immortalized by the 'Back to the Future' franchise? Scheduled to hit the US market in 2024, it will now be re-released in an electric version, with limited production of just 88 units - in a clear reference to the film..
Designed by Italdesign, the new Alpha5 is an electric coupe that brings some details that are very reminiscent of the DMC-12 of the 80's. as in the retro version).
With a similar size to the Porsche Taycan, the sedan is 4,995 m long, 2.04 m wide and 1.37 m high. The wheelbase is just 2.30 m. At the front, the thin LED headlights are interconnected by the front grille.
Inside, the DeLorean Alpha5 gains a minimalist design, highlighting the multimedia center and digital panel. The steering wheel and instrument panel are very reminiscent of Tesla cars, branded by Elon Musk.
Technical information has not yet been released, however, we already know that it will be equipped with a 100 kWh battery and a range of more than 483 km on a full charge. As for performance, the electric car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 88 miles per hour in 4.35 seconds. Going from 0 to 96 km/h (100 miles per hour) takes 2.99 seconds. The maximum is 250 km/h.
The official launch of the new DeLorean Alpha5 will be officially presented to the public in August, during the Concours d'Elegance event in Pebble Beach, California (USA). The values have not yet been released.
