BMW R18 motorcycle arrives in Brazil
The most powerful boxer motorcycle in the history of BMW and highly customizable arrives in the Brazilian market in 2022.
Launched abroad in 2020, the R18 is a classic roadster BMW model full of personality. Highly customizable, the motorcycle features four lines, making it an object of desire around the world.
The model that arrives in Brazil in 2022 to compete with Harley-Davidson, has a boxer engine with 1,800 cc, two cylinders, four valves, block and transmission made of hand-polished aluminum and a modern air and oil cooling system.
Considered the most powerful boxer in history, its six-speed engine delivers 91 hp at 4,750rpm, with a maximum torque of 158Nm already available from 3,000rpm. Following the custom style with a long and low silhouette, like the American motorcycles, the R18 presents four versions of the model:
The R18, with a minimalist look, "fishtail" exhaust; the R18 Classic, which features leather side bags and a windshield; the R18 B, which is bagger-style, with hard cases and a front fairing; and the R18 Transcontinental, the top-of-the-line model is a kind of Harley Ultra Limited.
With state-of-the-art technology, in addition to three riding modes, it also has dynamic engine brake control and traction control. The braking system has a double disc at the front and a single disc at the rear, with ABS as standard.
With round headlights that mix modernity with a touch of nostalgia, it has LED lighting on the R18 and R18 Classic models. Panel with circular dial, like the old motorcycles and a more discreet LCD screen.
Still without a price revealed in Brazil, in the US the Classic version sells for US$19,000 (about R$101,000). According to the German automaker, the model should be presented in the country in August and should arrive in stores later this year.
