First flying motorcycle arrives in 2023
The world's first flying motorcycle is longer than the Renault Kwid and is now available for purchase at $777,000.Presented at the Detroit Motor Show last week, the flying motorcycle from the Japanese brand Aerwins has been on pre-sale since 2021. Now the novelty also lands in the United States and is on sale for R$4 million. Named XTurismo Limited Edition, the futuristic vehicle is a mix between a motorcycle and a drone - the wheels were replaced by propellers to be able to take flight..
As for size, it is 3.7 meters long, longer than a Fiat Mobi or Renault Kwid. Weighing 300 kg, it is also 2.4 in width and 1.5 in height, supporting a maximum weight of 100 kg.
Powered by hybrid-type engines that combine internal combustion and electric engines, performance data has not yet been reported. However, its flight autonomy is 40 minutes at a speed of up to 100 km/h, with a fuel tank of 40 liters of capacity.
Despite all the innovation, the loud noise of the engines still needs to be corrected. One point must be taken into account: as it is a vertical take-off and landing vehicle, it is still not allowed to be used on the streets.
In other words, the owner of the XTurismo Limited Edition will need a property with a few square meters to enjoy the novelty. The company is already working on a more compact and affordable project, which will cost around US$50,000.
If you are interested, you can order it directly on the Aerwins website in 2023.
