Lotus pays tribute to Emerson Fittipaldi
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Emerson Fittipaldi's first Formula 1 title, Lotus has launched a special 2,040 hp electric car series.
In order to celebrate the title won in 1972 by Emerson Fittipaldi in Formula 1, British sports car manufacturer Lotus launched a special edition featuring one of the most powerful cars in the world. In all, 130 copies will be produced, but only eight of them will be dedicated to the former driver.
The model also features a hand painted black and gold, featuring the same colors as the Formula 1 Type 72. The rear has a number eight on the B-pillar, and a series of graphics for the five victories won among the 11 that were races that year.
Its interior follows the same color pattern as the outside. Glossy gold air vent bezels, pedals and buttons are eye-catching. The champion's signature appears hand-embroidered on the bezel.
To further honor the legend, the electric super sports car delivers an impressive 2,040 horsepower and 173.8 kgm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 300 km/h in just nine seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h.
All eight Lotus Evija units are already booked with deliveries for the beginning of 2023. The English brand chose not to reveal the value of the novelty.
