Facts about the 2022 World Cup

From November 20th to December 18th, one of the biggest events in the world begins. Let's watch 32 teams fighting for the title of Champion of the 2022 Cup, which takes place in Qatar. Even for those who don't like football, everyone takes the time to watch some of the competition. 1 - First Cup in the Middle East
In its 22nd edition, this will be the first time that a Middle Eastern country hosts the World Cup. Among them are: Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Syria and Turkey. From 2026, the competition will change from 32 teams to 48 teams.
2 - Little tradition in football
Unlike previous competitions, which have always been held in countries with a football tradition, this will be Qatar's first participation in the World Cup due to the fact that it hosts the games.
3 - World Cup in November
With temperatures that can reach between 40 °C and 50 °C in summer, the event had to be postponed to the end of the year during the Northern Hemisphere winter. Therefore, this will be the first World Cup that, instead of June and June, will be held in November. Some stadiums like Khalifa Stadium already have a cooling system.
4 - Qatar is very rich
Even considered a small nation, with only 11 thousand km² (half the size of Sergipe), Qatar is one of the richest in the world thanks to oil. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounts to almost $150 billion - 20 times the GDP of Monaco.
5 - City built from scratch
With large investments for the World Cup, the city of Lusail was built from scratch in the middle of the desert, for the construction of a stadium with capacity for 80 thousand people. In addition, the world will have the first detachable stadium, the Ras Abu Abud, made with recycled shipping containers.
6 - Record investment
To prepare for the 2022 World Cup, it is estimated that the Qatari government has invested US$3 billion in its stadiums. Not to mention the value that the winner of the World Cup will receive, the value of the prize will be 42 million dollars.
7 - Connection between the stadiums
