Ram 1500 Revolution: futuristic pickup

Meet the Ram 1500 Revolution, the first electric pickup truck with an unprecedented platform capable of chasing the driver.

Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show, the world's largest technology fair to take place in Las Vegas between January 5th and 8th, the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept promises to revolutionize the pickup market. With the 100% electric concept, the brand that is part of the Stellanis group said that its next launches will all be electrified..

The model promises to innovate in the four most important areas: recharge time, towing capacity, autonomy and payload. We can anticipate that there will be two electric motors that in 10 minutes of recharging guarantee an extra 160 km of autonomy, with direct current (DC) fast charging from 800 V to up to 350 kW. 

It also has a robot that detects the presence of the pickup and plugs into it automatically, in case the driver is too lazy to connect the car to the charger. As for its potency, details have yet to be revealed. 

With 4-wheel steering with up to 15° of articulation, the Ram 1500 Revolution will offer greater maneuverability for off-road trail parking and improved steering response at high speeds. It will also feature air suspension in three modes: off-road, aerodynamics, entry/exit.

On the outside of the vehicle, we can highlight the new Ram design language. New LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRL) with two opposing horizontal lines. Doors with rear opening in the opposite direction of the front opening, dispensing with the use of column B.  

One of the most notable changes is the smaller external mirror. In its center, instead of a mirror, there is a camera that reproduces images inside the truck. The bodywork and wheel arches are hourglass-style, freeing up more room for the 35-inch tires. 

Inside, there are six benches that can be adjusted to different positions, ensuring a living room style. It also accommodates a dual-monitor touchscreen display, offering 28 screen area, which can be repositioned however you wish. Other highlights are the 360° intelligent reverse camera, voice assistants, retractable steering wheel, all-glass roof and head-up display with augmented reality. 

We couldn't stop talking about the "shadow mode". The novelty allows the vehicle to automatically follow the driver walking ahead - within a safe distance. The feature will be voice activated, using camera sensors to navigate around obstacles. Ideal for situations where you don't want to return to get something you forgot inside the car. 

The Ram 1500 Revolution will be launched in the United States in 2024 and has several chances of arriving in Brazil as well. There is no doubt that the novelty would be a great success here in the country.
