Apple finally presents Vision Pro
Meet Apple's newest release, the Vision Pro. The new gaze-controlled virtual reality headset.
Revealed last Monday (05) in the broadcast of the Worldwide Conference of Developers in California (USA), Apple presented its new virtual reality glasses, the Apple Vision Pro, considered the “electronic device for personal use most advanced of all times”.
Learn more about the news below:
Unlike the virtual reality glasses that are already available on the market, the Apple Vision Pro is very reminiscent of a ski goggle. The device allows viewing interfaces and apps, as if the user were inside the environment. It superimposes virtual objects around us - blending reality with the virtual world. Sensors identify eye and hand movements, which facilitates content interaction, in addition to voice control via Siri. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the new device "seamlessly blends the real world and the virtual world".
Hartley Charlton, editor of the MacRumors website, said he doesn't know if the general public will be interested in the glasses. "It won't appeal to mainstream consumers at first because of its extremely high price and immediate problems like its separate wired battery," he said.
But he also noted that Apple has a history of "overcoming skepticism" about new devices and has historically challenged people to "trade their cash for a new gadget in their repertoire".
According to Apple, the Vision Pro is the most ambitious product created by the brand - as a "space computer". The novelty also has a button to take pictures and a digital crown similar to the Apple Watch, allowing you to control experiences also physically - its design has thermal control for maximum comfort.
About the battery, it is connected via a wire, separated from the headset, guaranteeing two hours of autonomy. As for processing, the novelty features two M2 chips, already present in some Macs. It aims to ensure that the user really feels inside the environment.
The new virtual reality glasses are unlocked through the Optic ID that identifies the iris of the user's eyes, including Apple Pay cards and passwords. Another big highlight is entertainment, as no other device in the world can deliver this quality in a 3D movie.
The Gadget will go on sale in early 2024 in the US and will cost around $3,499.
