Is wine an aphrodisiac? According to new studies, researchers claim that the drink increases libido and decreases erectile dysfunction.
Did you know that wine improves sex? If consumed in the right measure, it provides several health benefits! According to some studies carried out between 1993 and 2022, men who drink one or two glasses of red wine a day have a lower risk of erectile dysfunction. In women, the drink increases libido, leaving them looser, freer and more confident.

How does wine act in the body?
Rich in polyphenols - plant compounds also present in foods such as onions, dark chocolate and teas, wine acts as antioxidants and/or anti-inflammatories, the main one being resveratrol, helping to balance oxidative stress (accumulation of free radicals in our body).
In the organism, it increases blood flow, reaching the erogenous zones, raising testosterone levels, stimulating the sexual organs and leaving the sexual desire even greater.
And in women?
In 2009, the University of Florence carried out a study with 798 women aged 18 to 50, healthy and sexually active, to find out about the interference of wine on libido.
They were classified into three categories: those who drink more than two cups a day; those who consume one to two glasses a day, those who never consume. After nineteen questions, the result was: those who drink one to two glasses a day have a greater sexual appetite.
What is the perfect amount to increase libido?
Remember, everything in excess is bad. That is, to ensure this aphrodisiac effect, you need to drink a maximum of two glasses of red wine a day. In short, enjoy in moderation!
Why red wines?
As much as there is no proven research, in red wines we find a higher concentration of polyphenols and therefore have this effect. In addition, the fruity and floral aroma enhances the effect.
