SU7: Xiaomi's first electric car

With a look inspired by Tesla and McLaren, Xiaomi finally revealed its first electric car. 

Xiaomi has unveiled its first electric car, the Xiaomi SU7 compact sedan, marking an impressive entry into the automotive scene. With a design inspired by the renowned brands Tesla and McLaren, this innovative vehicle promises to raise standards in electric mobility..

The Xiaomi SU7 compact sedan is the first electric car from one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Inspired by the Tesla Model 3 and McLaren, the model will be produced in partnership with BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co Ltd) in two versions with mechanical power differences. 

Highlighting the elegant, modern and sporty design, the front is made up of triangular headlights, light curves on the hood and a darker bumper. You can also count on sensors and radars on top of the windshield for advanced assisted steering. 

Featuring cutting-edge technology, advanced connectivity is expected with the Chinese brand's smartphones. The sedan is 5 m long, 1.96 m wide, 1.45 m high and has a wheelbase of 3 m. The wheels can be 19 inches or 20”.

According to information released by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Xiaomi SU7 uses batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. or BYD, depending on the engine configuration. 

There will be two versions with mechanical differences between them. The Pro, with 299 hp of power connected to the rear axle. Its weight is 1,980 kg and the declared maximum speed is 210 km/h. The Max has all-wheel drive with 673 hp and has a top speed of 265 km/h, with a weight of 2,205 kg. 

Production should now begin in December 2023, deliveries are already scheduled for February 2024. Both values and launch dates in other countries have not yet been released.
