BYD reveals luxury sedan with 1,000 hp

With 1,000 hp of power, BYD U7 is YangWang's new luxury sedan that comes to compete with the Tesla Model S. 

BYD is increasingly standing out when it comes to electric cars and is preparing for another launch of its luxury brand, YangWang. With no less than an impressive 1,000 horsepower, the U7 was officially presented and will soon be available on the international and national market.

Designed by former Audi designer Wolfgang Egger, the BYD U7 draws attention both for its engine power and its striking lines. In a style called “Gate of Time and Space”, the bodywork features elements that improve the vehicle’s efficiency.

It is 5.26 m long, 2 m wide and 1.51 m high, 30.2 cm longer and 12.2 cm wider than a Porsche Taycan.

Highlights include the futuristic-looking door handles, triple full LED headlights with arched daytime running lights, connected to the DRLs and a wide hood with sophisticated creases. The roof is inset with both the windshield and the rear window. 

The windshields have a device that belongs to LiDAR resources, semi-autonomous driving. At the rear, the images published on the brand's social networks show a small spoiler highlighted across the entire trunk lid.

With huge 20-inch wheels with perforated disc brakes, BYD promises to be the Han's successor and has everything it needs to compete with Tesla, its main competitor. Images of the interior of the vehicle have not yet been released. 


Mechanical details have also not been disclosed, but it is believed that YangWang's luxury sedan will consist of four engines, producing 1,006 hp and a wide range. 

BYD has already confirmed that it will bring it to Brazil and the first model will be the U8 SUV. As for the BYD U7, its price is estimated at around 1,000,000 yuan, or R$680,000 in direct conversion. We will soon release more details about the new feature.
