In the modern era, where an active sexual life is seen as an essential part of well-being, the trend of decreasing sexual interest among young adults is a worrying phenomenon. But what really happens when you decide to take a break from sexual activity?

According to experts, the effects can be more impactful than you imagine. From increased stress to physical consequences like genital atrophy, stopping sexual activity can have significant implications for the body and mind.

Professor Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, from California State University in Fullerton, in the United States, an expert in sex and relationships, warns that a lack of long-term sexual activity can cause penile atrophy, a rare condition in which the penis can shrink by up to 2 centimeters. The same effect can occur with the vagina.

Furthermore, the impacts are not limited to the physical aspect. Mental health can also be affected, leading to increased stress and possibly triggering self-esteem issues and insecurities. See below for some more important points:

Physical health

Some physical changes may occur due to lack of regular sexual activity. For example, reduced libido can lead to a decrease in the production of certain hormones, such as testosterone in both men and women. Additionally, sexual activity may have cardiovascular benefits, helping to maintain heart health.

Mental health

For some people, a lack of sex can affect their mental health. Sexual activity can release endorphins and other neurotransmitters that promote emotional well-being. So, a lack of this can lead to feelings of loneliness, frustration or even depression in some people.

Relationship

If stopping having sex affects a romantic relationship, it can lead to tension or conflict in the relationship. Open and honest communication about sexual needs and desires can be key to maintaining emotional and physical connection in a relationship.

Self-esteem and Sexual Identity

Some people may associate their self-esteem or sexual identity with their sexual activity. Therefore, stopping sexual intercourse can challenge these aspects of personal identity and require an adjustment in how they see themselves.

The effects of stopping having sex depend a lot on the person and how they deal with this change in their life. It's important to recognize that we are unique and what works for one person may not work for another.

Se a pessoa mesmo solteira e sem namorada já vive uma castidade forçada e torturante e sem privacidade e quando sai nem pode dar uma "escapada" para ter um relacionamento casual como fica
