Lotus Emira: Exclusive Tribute to Senna

Lotus launches special edition Emira with liveries inspired by Ayrton Senna’s cars, limited to 12 units.

Lotus has launched a special edition of the Emira sports car, celebrating Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. Known for his memorable victories for Lotus between 1985 and 1987, Senna now receives a fitting tribute with two iconic liveries that reference the single-seaters he drove.

This exclusive series offers more than just stunning looks. Limited to just 12 units of each version, the special edition Emira will be available in Europe, priced at €111,000 per unit, approximately R$708,000. Each vehicle will come with a certificate of authenticity and a numbered plaque with the name “Emira Limited”, marking the beginning of Lotus’ “Chapman Bespoke” personalisation programme.

Design inspired by Senna's classics

The first model pays homage to the Type 99T, famous for its victories in the Monaco and Detroit GPs in 1987, with a yellow body and blue details, as well as the iconic number 12 on the sides. The second model pays tribute to the Type 97T, used by Senna in his victories in Portugal and Belgium, with a black and gold paint job that recalls the iconic John Player Special brand.

Powerful performance

Under the hood, the Emira is equipped with a 2.0 turbo four-cylinder engine, capable of generating 365 hp of power and 43.8 kgfm of torque. With an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 283 km/h.

Other exclusive colors

In addition to the tributes to Senna, the special edition offers three more color options that celebrate the history of Lotus. One of them is inspired by the 1980 Type 86, with a deep blue, red and silver details, and the number 11. Another is a reference to the 1977 Type 78, with a black body and gold and red details, driven by Mario Andretti. Finally, the 1963 Type 25, driven by Jim Clark, is a dark green with yellow details, highlighting a stripe that runs across the Emira's hood.

This special edition Lotus Emira is more than a tribute to Ayrton Senna; it is a celebration of Lotus' legacy in motorsports, combining history, beauty and performance in an exclusive and irresistible package.
