Wine are cheaper in 2019

If you, like me, enjoy a good bottle of wine, you’ll probably happy with the news I bring: prices are probably getting cheaper this year.
According to Rabobank International’s quarter report, global factors have contributed to the fact. Among them, the super harvest of some varieties of Italian grapes, and the devaluation of the Argentinean currency. The company’s analysts, under the leadership of Stephen Rannekleiv, point out to other reasons for the price decrease:
“Bulk wine prices at the year of last year reflected the impact of the European super harvest. The prices of Spanish and Italian wine showed the most relevant contractions.”
Still according to them, “last year’s harvest has direct impact on 2019’s trends.”
The report does not list the grape varieties most affected by this scenario, but highlights that the rules remain the same: "The largest the amount of wine, the higher the price.”
The analysts have also mentioned e-commerce, which has attracted more and more wine lovers with its large variety of available options. “Besides convenience, those who buy online look for exclusivity. Products and experiences they can’t find in their local stores. In these cases, customers are willing to pay more for that.”
Personal experience, here in Brazil e-commerce tends to have much more attractive prices for wine lovers.
