VAR is Hungover and the Brasileirão is on Fire!

What's up, folks! Welcome to another edition of your favorite column to jinx the rival team and stay on top of everything that happened on and off the pitch. The weekend's round of matches was one of those that makes you wonder if the VAR crew isn't calibrating their equipment with the same beer from the Sunday barbecue. Between a heated derby, amazing goals, and a lot of whining, the Brasileirão showed why it's the most exciting (and craziest) championship on the planet.

São Paulo 2 - 3 Palmeiras: A great match at Morumbi! Palmeiras took advantage of the refereeing "blackout" to secure three points and the league lead. For São Paulo, it leaves a bitter taste and the certainty that, besides the opponent, they have to fight against hidden forces. But seriously, conceding three goals at home after being up 2-0? Unacceptable, right?!
-
Vasco da Gama 4 - 3 Vitória: Seven goals at São Januário! A nail-biter of a game, where the defenses took the day off and the attacks had a field day. The fans who paid for a ticket, at least, can't complain about a lack of excitement.
-
Bahia 1 - 0 Flamengo: Mengão went to Salvador but left their football skills in Rio. With red cards included, they watched Bahia do their homework and celebrate as if it were a championship final. The Nação Rubro-Negra (Flamengo's fanbase) already has their horns out now that Palmeiras has taken the lead.
-
Juventude 1 - 2 Fortaleza: The Leão do Pici (Lion of Pici) went down south to show who's boss. A hard-fought match, but Fortaleza's superior quality prevailed. For Juventude, the lesson is that you can't slip up at home.
-
Cruzeiro 1 - 1 Sport: At the Mineirão, the draw tasted like a defeat for the Raposa (the Fox), which was counting on three points to climb the table. A valiant Sport snatched a precious point and returned to Recife with a smile on their face.
-
Ceará 3 - 0 Santos: Vozão completely dominated the Peixe (the Fish) and delivered a thrashing to cleanse the soul. Santos, on the other hand, seems to still be at the beach. Hello, board of directors, the championship is underway.
