Emotional New Year
After the New Year´s celebrations, here we are, making our resolutions list. And that isn´t only about starting a diet so we can fit in the long-gone size 6 clothes. This time of the year is perfect for organizing and changing what isn´t that good.
There comes a time in which the older you get, the lesser the time you have for some fun. Work sometimes occupy most of our time, and some of us are already tired and still need to play with your kids and ask your wife how her day was when you get home in the evening. Friends are a rare item then. The ones that remain are those who are either real good friends to you or are going through the same phase as yours. On one hand, it is awesome once the ones who don´t really care about you will certainly go away without you having to ask them to.
If you´re on an earlier stage, the situation is different. Being on love with someone is great, and having time to exchange all that love and happiness without having to share it with babies is even better! But keeping a relasionship just because it seems harder to end it is silly. Maybe you like her, but try to discover how you do it. Do you like her as your partner or as a friend?
Will you be staying for another year like that? Keeping someone beside you just because it´s been too long? Do not keep investing your energy into something you do not believe it´s going to last. Your partner might be to special to be losing her time with a person who doesn´t want to be with her in the future. Let her go, free yourself. Both of you might have surprises awaiting around the corner.
And if you´re single and willing to find yourself someone to share the moments with, go for it. Forget about your flaws or fears. Maybe she is there, just waiting for you to take a first step. Work along with your creativity and take her to a road trip, go to the movies, cook something she likes, visit a different beach or dress up and go for a night out.
Remember the main thing: pay a visit to your parents, go out with your siblings, have dinner with your aunt and uncle. Listen to them a little bit, hear what they have to say to you, talk less, try to help if they ask your opinion or simply pay attention to what they´re sharing. Family is the only thing we can truly count on.
If you´re an uncle, take your little ones to the park. Kinds are cute, sincere and lovely. They are happy to help and ready to make us laugh. When you have your own children you´ll miss spending some time with your friends´. They grow up too fast, make it worth it!
Copy the ladies: make lists. And start crossing what has been done. It is awesome being able to complete something, even if it takes some time. Life is made of little things, and every start of a new year is an opportunity of living it better.
