Counterpoint

There is an expression used by trend scholars called Zeitgest. In its German translation, Zeitgest is the spirit of time, that is, the whole cultural and behavioral climate at any given time or period. To better understand, let's imagine that the current Zeitgest could be understood as sustainable movements and concern for the environment.

It is common nowadays for women to bear part (or almost all) of household expenses. An event that has changed and continues to stir society. After all, for many centuries, or almost always, the Zeitgest of behavioral society was composed of a woman who needed to take care of the house, the children, work only by occupation, while his man went to the street to "hunt". It changes context and takes time to change the mindset of many people.

The woman gains power, but the man finds it unfair. But if we move through the books of ancient stories and novels, we will understand that there was a time when the woman was almost an object, a possession, someone without much active voice. And this is just a cultural idea, of a certain time, and not even women felt oppressed, as they do today. Men do not accept female empowerment and kill their mates. Children with cancer are downgraded on social networks because they wear wigs. No one else can hide from public life, there are cameras everywhere waiting for the right moment to capture their weaknesses.

Even though the mindset does not keep up with the changes, it seems that more and more people are “breaking free” to expose themselves, to show their anger, their negative points, to let out what lies dormant deep in their soul. The Internet and social networks are responsible for spreading all this erroneous content of our daily lives within seconds. We can then say that our spirit of time oscillates between the desire to gain its space and fight for its rights and to have the courage to assume even the most bizarre and wrong attitudes towards society. It's a constant shock of wanting and criticizing.
