What legacy will you leave?
After the International Women's Day, there are so many outstanding and ideal subjects discussed, that we would have a subject for more than ten columns.
But the subject that most calls my attention, and it is certainly because I am a mother, is about the label of women considered “single mothers”. Well mistaken by the way, after all single is the woman who did not get married on paper (which is what counts for organized civil society), and not that mother who raises her children alone.
Well, before talking about any concept of feminism, we have to remember that it is based on equal rights, between men and women. Feminists, those who take the concept literally, are not women who hate men! They are those who want to have the same rights. Like equal pay, respect in society, the right to end a relationship without being murdered by the ex-partner, to share chores and raise children.
Oops! Is this a right then? Some men may think at this point that these are called "maternal tasks". The truth, my friend, is that there are no maternal tasks, there are parents' tasks, the creation is bilateral ok? It is no longer enough for a woman to bear a child, carry and nurture it for nine months, then at home for a few months or even years until she gets a job or returns from maternity leave. That is when she is not fired after a few months that she returned from her leave for the simple fact of being a potential mother (the idea that she can get pregnant again and start the cycle again).
Nor does it need to explain why women who want to be a mother are generally unable to position themselves in the job market. How to get? How to work and have responsibilities within your corporate functions, take care of the child, take care of the house, please the husband, stay thin, go to the gym, apply botox, go in fashion, do not charge affection, among other thousand female tasks? It is humanly impossible! Those who say they can, have a support! She has a partner husband, who shares house chores, searches the school, changes diapers, teaches how to read and does school tasks, does the dishes, stays with the children so that the wife can do a postgraduate course on Saturdays .
The funniest thing is to need to list the things that should be rules. If you who are reading this column are the type of men who complain about their partner being overweight, about not getting a good job, about the house being messy, stop right now and be fully aware that you have responsibility for all the items on this list black and unfair. How can I lose weight if I don't have time to sleep properly? How can you have a better job without training, without updating the market if you have to take care of the children on Saturday for your husband to go out to play or watch football? How to clean the house yourself if everyone has a mess?
Marriages do not end or lose their charm if there is partnership and understanding. Blaming money is easy, saying that couples with more conditions are fulfilled because they have greater possibilities. Perhaps these possibilities arose from a partnership, from a creation with friendly parents who shared their tasks, teaching their children the correct values. Macho fathers raise macho children, daughters ready to put up with this inequality from men who think they are better because they were born men. Now the point is that this could be your daughter!
