In the time of the curious
We live in the age of wise men, they say. You will hardly find anyone to talk to (in the hands of a smartphone) who is not up to date with the topics considered top trends of the day. Or are you going to say that you never felt embarrassed when someone who is not even in your area of expertise gave you pointers on any subject that you are an expert?
It may seem like an exaggeration, but it is true. How often do people surprise us with important information, relevant (or not) on subjects that they don't even know, that may pass completely away from their realities. But today we are just a click away from knowledge, albeit superficial, we are full of smart people in all areas. The flood of online courses and learning swept the great experts and specialists, the real ones, to remote places where they were displaced, becoming almost museum pieces and without the power of voice.
After almost a year of studying and working online, people are increasingly connected and understanding the possibilities of virtual life. More chances of knowledge, more fields of work. The crop of online experts grew so much that the real experts ended up being erased and devalued, forgotten in the limbo of that wonderful face-to-face life, full of colors, aromas, flavors and sensations.
Much is said about normal again. However, it is not even a new normal, it is a period that we are going through, fighting and surviving. Isolation is not normal, pandemic is not normal, it is not normal not to be able to live with people. It's abnormal! None of this is the new normal, if it were, why then do we immediately expect a cure, a vaccine? Normal can be our new online possibilities, our virtual classes, our home office. Restricting our time passing by something as challenging as normality is definitely out of the question!
A child with a smartphone can almost take over the world! A child constantly teaches us a lot, technology has become his specialty. Jokes aside, we have often seen ourselves asking our children for help to download an application on their cell phones and we are faced with agility and intelligence in our little ones. Okay, we shouldn't panic, because this is the new normal. Knowledge seduces everyone, and why not even children? Imagine you a whole world to discover, curiosities about animals, questions about mathematics and history and you have the Google screen in front of you to show you any answer?
All knowledge seduces. And not only children who are thirsty to learn to live and discover everything, but it seduces us all. We cannot judge who seeks your questions, who wants to learn more. True experts will never lose their value, they carry knowledge, which will be the basis of our research, our searches, our doubts. We live then in the time of the curious, future wise men!
