Victory is Contagious
After a year of waiting, the Olympics finally happened. The games that were for 2020 were postponed, but they didn't stop happening! That atmosphere of rooting for the country, adoring and idolizing athletes who spend years training for just a few seconds of competition. It's a wave of positivity, patriotism, good energy. Any sport is welcome, even those criticized by parents, such as skateboarding, end up becoming popular and gaining millions of new fans.
Competition is something present in our lives, outside of sport, even. We compete for a better place in the classroom, for an event waiting line, for a job opening or an important position. Competition is like a fuel that always carries us to the next step, to the next goals. Knowing that we need to learn something to stand out is a daily competition in life, which pushes us towards some specific paths, which are often planned, but not always achieved.
Disappointment parallels competition. Nothing is more connected with the fact of victory than with defeat itself. How many people flee from competitive places and actions in order not to face defeat, with the disappointment of not being able to win. There are several feelings connected with this feeling of not achieving the goals, disappointing those around. It's not just top athletes who need to understand that competition brings frustration and anguish, but all people who aspire to something bigger and pursue complex goals.
How many people feel defeated after years of studying for a competition, for a master's degree, and are massacred in the results. How many athletes train years for an Olympics and in a few seconds lose the competition. In the opposite way is the victory, the glory of the conquest, which pulverizes an incredible feeling for everything, that desire to get up and go out to fight, to seek a conquest.
When a sport gains notoriety, wins medals, it begins to be practiced massively, with fans who did not even know or were interested in the sport before. Like the professions, some of them gain visibility due to the need of new times (such as technology, information technology, mental health) and courses and professionals appear to disseminate information to those who want to join the labor market heated by new needs and demands.
The achievement brings a vibration that is felt and reverberated by people looking for inspiration, who need to reach some goal. And so the mentors, the teachers, the people who pass on their knowledge so that others can reach a podium arise. In sport and in life. Let's take advantage of this moment, take advantage of the positive energy that settles in everything and everyone, a desire to start something new, or even to finish something stopped. Let's look up to these real idols, in their achievements to seek ours too. Victory is contagious!
