End of the year, new promises begin!

There are two types of people in this world: those who believe in the renewal of the new year, in the opportunity to change something and reach new goals; and those who continue their flow in the same energy, accepting what life delivers. What's your type?
We are not always able to stop and position ourselves, if there is no questioning, since life moves in an automatic with almost no brakes. A salute to all those who managed to stop and reflect on their attitudes and changes in the last two years, as for most they were just following the herd. It would be a luxury to have that pause for reflection and self-knowledge in crazy times like these. Optimism or pessimism? It depends on the angle, and let's say both attitudes are important, after all toxic positivity is often worse than light and realistic pessimism!
Insurance is that inflexible that does not change the route and plan? Is someone irresponsible who gives in to temptations and lets himself be carried away by the moment? Both profiles suffer consequences. The inflexible is that annoying, that we usually give up on him because he doesn't give in to anything, doesn't take a day off to mess around, to forget about the world and have fun. The irresponsible is the one who jumps in and asks Uber for money at the end of Sunday to go home, saying that he hasn't even made a project presentation for Monday morning.
Where is the balance? Is focus able to overcome balance? Depends on who, right? The focus takes us on extraordinary paths, but with the awareness that many things will be left behind. That disorder will also appear, as we need to close our eyes to situations that will arise and not suffer in saying no, in abdicating, not enjoying or even letting the chaos surface to stay in focus. The good thing is to have a plan in mind, even for chaos, for imbalance. Just like those people who enjoy diets and take a few days that they call garbage (wrong because no food is garbage!). But you can understand, isn't it? But back to you: have you made your list of goals for the next year? Or are you following life and letting it take you? Do you believe that writing and listing your goals will more easily achieve them, or at least have a safe guide to follow? According to specialists, having objectives and goals help us not to deviate from some paths that can hinder our results. But let's agree that we have to be strong and resist many things that appear in front of us. It can be work, relationship, diet, exercise or saving to buy and buy something. There is strength! A beautiful woman who wants something from you, a tempting new job, swapping her car for a new model instead of saving the increase in wages for the entrance to her new apartment. It's such a temptation!
The good thing is to plan an imbalance every now and then, to set aside some money for something out of the need list, to keep your sanity. Because both extremes are too harmful: living with extreme focus and narrow-mindedness or living with no goal at all! And push away whoever is around us.
