Are you on the feat team or the perfect team?

How many times have you heard the expression “better done than perfect” out there? Countless, right? But what about you, do you belong to those who do it or to those who want to do it perfectly? Ah, how people who want to make everything perfect are criticized! And convinced to do it, first of all!

Living in the moment we hear the most “virtual advice”, miraculous course results and a flood of people with superficial knowledge becoming mentors in random areas, we hear lessons all the time. Everyone knows a person who has become a mentor or has a course that promises miracles. You do not?

Sometimes, when I'm in that moment of being able to sit down and stay connected on social media, I feel an outsider's shame to go through some such shallow content, but so full of reason. Listening to a podcast this week, I came across something very uplifting and sincere: if you have low self-esteem, you need to follow and interact with people at your (financial) level. This person also said that in their networks (where they have paid partnerships) that before accepting a publipost, they analyze the product/service to see if it has a connection with their followers, as they do not intend to leave their audience with a feeling of powerlessness, with the feeling of doing little, since they cannot have/acquire what is being shown. As if it were a form of empathy.

You can have an amazing job, be an important and relevant professional in your field, but you end up falling into these traps that are driven by the ego, by the world that happens on social media. This excessive and toxic charge of productivity and results is tiring! We can't even try to make it “perfect” anymore, because we have to do it, deliver it, produce it. Poor people who have intellectual professions, who need to stop, breathe, create, think. We can't even celebrate the holidays anymore, it's like we don't have the right to stop and do nothing! So, do we need to be ashamed of not producing and enjoying the vacation days that we've dreamed of so much during the course of the year?

The business gets complicated when the idea of the better done than perfect, meets the theories of the current wise mentors, who preach that we have to have focus and dedication to start new projects, new careers. Even in the Shark Tank program (an American franchise with a Brazilian version that is very successful) the so-called sharks, who are investors who will or will not accept partners in new businesses and ideas, want people to leave their jobs and dedicate themselves to their idea to thrive. They often harshly criticize people who don't quit their safe jobs to jump right into entrepreneurship.

Of course, I believe that we have to do it, it's much better to do something than nothing! But not badly done! If you are a team that values to do perfect, don't feel out of place and like a fish out of water in the current times, high productivity and clueless delivery of insane content! Soon, fashion passes and we return to the time when those who do what they propose well are valued. I confess I'm praying for this.
