Digital hangover

Who spends more time on their smartphone, men or women? Who spends more time on social media, men or women? Our reality nowadays is to spend a lot of time connected. And there are so many distractions that it's not just social media that we're exclusively connected anymore. A plethora of apps, for everything we need! And after all, is this good?

Have you ever had that digital hangover feeling? When we stay connected for so long that it seems that the limit has been crossed so many times that we owe someone, or the universe, I don't know, like a negative connection balance. Have you ever wondered if this was really possible? Return time or abstain from connected time to “pay” the debt of over connection?

I think the most common scolding that people take nowadays, from older parents, girlfriends, wives and even children is because they spend too much time on their cell phones. It's common for you to meet friends or family and chat for a while until suddenly everyone picks up the phone to check the networks and messages in the apps. And if there's a really ugly thing (and the scolding is valid) it's when someone is telling you something and you're using your cell phone with your attention focused on your device and not on the conversation. Remember that the next time this happens...

But come on: everything has a positive side and a negative side! Running out of technology today would be difficult (perhaps impossible for some areas). A few months ago, news appeared in the media that pointed to a possible cosmic rain that would result in the possibility of us running out of internet and perhaps without telephone communication. And many people became desperate. Especially those that depend on digital business income, of course! It really would be chaos and I really hope that doesn't happen. Many things could be extinguished, they could disappear completely from the face of the Earth because we won't have the internet. In truth? I hope it's a rumor!

We already know that the internet is wonderful, and we cannot live without it. But it misleads us several times. The temptation to visit the profiles of beautiful and attractive people is a daily constant! A little peek here, another there and so on! When we get real, we're already talking loudly with someone. And taking it in a good way, without seeing any problem with it. However, we know that it is a big problem that can evolve into betrayal. The digital hangover can come from these moments, those that we know will not work, but we still insist. It would be really good if we could use the compensation I mentioned above and redeem our sins.

Or not. After all, we would be relying on loopholes to justify our bad attitudes. As some lawyers do, they use loopholes in the law to accommodate their clients who have committed something very wrong and need to be acquitted. Come to think of it, you don't even need that. It's just not overstepping the boundaries of what would be acceptable that it's okay. Those who have a hangover are usually those who abused the drink. And who doesn't want to have a hangover, what can they do?
