Sale time
It is that time of the year again – sale time – and window shopping becomes almost a compulsory act when we´re in search of indispensable wardrobe items for any season of the year. Men usually resist to offers, and prefer buying only the necessary for their routine. Whereas women buy on an impulse, and fill their closets with pieces they don´t actually need. Still, some items are quite useful to have available at home, bearing in mind they are cheaper this time of the year and you´re able to wear them no matter what the weather´s like.
The shirt, for example, is a democratic clothing item. It is elegant when combined with a suit and tie, and also great to compose a funky look. By far the best item in a sale. In order to avoid mistakes, go for the classic ones, with polished collars and cuffs, and a flap on the back. Stripped and checked shirts are great for more formal offices. Now the maxi, colorful stripes are nice for those who work in casual environments, and also for wearing on your leisure time. The white, black, navy blue and yellow are the more traditional colors, and worth the investment for many years.
Another nice item is the sleeveless jacket, even though many men pull the brake when it´s time to wear them. The sleeveless jackets can be worn combined with jeans, for example - it all depends on your style. Perhaps the best way to get used to them is to go for the ones with interchangeable sleeves: you can either wear it as a jacket in winter, or as a vest in the mid-seasons by removing its sleeves when you feel like it. Versatile and masculine, I like that.
Scarves are other somewhat controversial items. Natural wool scarves are stylish and more commonly used by those looking for more than just protection from the coldest days. The acrylic ones are great for autumn and spring days, and can be combined with shirts and long sleeved sweatshirts. The traditional striped scarves are more popular, though, while the flat ones with fringes are great in neutral colors such as blue, gray and dark green.
Jeans is always a good investment. After all, the more we wash them, the better they become . Plus, they are suitable for all types of weather. We cannot live without our jeans, that´s for sure. So when in sale, go for them!
T-shirts are also pretty basic items in everyone´s wardrobes. V-neck, printed, plain, long sleeved... there are so many! Movie, cartoons or music prints are totally in and fun to wear in a more casual look [with jeans, for example]. A good tee can be your partner for many years.
Now when it comes to shoes, the best to do is think about its utility. Good quality shoes are a major investment, but they also last longer and some can even prevent your knees from injuries. If possible, pick the best quality pairs. Of course some are very expensive, but they last for years, and if comfy, you´ll certainly wear them a lot!
If you still have questions about what to buy, always consider the usefulness of the clothing items. Where will I wear it? When? Can I combine the item with the other pieces available in my wardrobe? And the main thing: does it match my style? I am sure you´ll be ready to enjoy the sale season to the most once you have answered those simples questions.
