Go for brown
There are pieces of clothing and colors that we automatically associate to the past, and some of us even fondly call it ‘granny style’. But many of the fashion classics can be revisited and updated in order to produce modern and ideal combinations for men who are after elegance and style.
For the past years the brown color has been used in suits for men who are more mature, without many details, following the trend of other basic colors such as black, navy, and gray. But brown is now back on the game with a more contemporary look, far from being far-fetched – a slim-cut blazer, chino trousers, a cardigan with fancy zippers or buttons.
A ton sur ton look, with several tons of nude, is nice and stylish, and perfect for the office. Try to combine a main brown piece, such as a blazer or coat, with jeans or light cardigans, and you’re good to go.
If you’re looking for a more sophisticated look, try the checked shocks such as Argyle, or maybe in contrasting colors, as for example yellow and turquoise with black. Basic suits with colorful socks may be a good idea when wearing brown as the main color.
Accessories are also a go, including brogue shoes (the traditional Oxford with little whole all around it), belts and watches – these are also great investments, since they hardly leave the catwalks and still guarantee their use for a long time.
