Back to the 80s
A colorful, fun fashion was the image of the 1980s. Flashy, exaggerated clothing were the last of the fashion trends, and when we look back to those old photos of ours, well… you probably have the same reaction as I do. Whether we like it or not, the 80s’ maxi trend is back, and is going to be much more often around there in 2017.
Patched jeans jackets were the face of the youth back in the 80s. The hooded ones are back, as are the overlapping, when you can combine pieces like jackets over hoodies, over a basic T-shirt, your old pair of jeans and trainers – probably the most teenager, popular image of all back in the day.
The sports sets, also known as tracksuits, have conquered the streets, and are now worn not only for exercising. Bringing these sports clothing to our daily routine is a macro trend this year – plus, you feel comfortable all the time! Strap pants can be worn along with leather bomber jackets (with frontal zipper), sweaters, or even other sportive jackets and coats.
The elastic-waist shorts were great hits ate the time, especially for swimming. Well, now they are back on track as tracksuit bottoms, and wanting you to wear them also outside the gyms. You may have heard it already, but they’re calling this trend athleisure, to define the moments when the active wear gains the streets beyond the sports.
Now, sunglasses. You probably remember that back in the 80s it was all mirrored lenses. You have probably notice that mirrored-lens-sunglasses have been back for a while, and are planning to stay – therefore more modern, with blue, yellow, and red lenses, and frames in several shapes and materials, such as wood.
The rock-band T-shirts are another item that is back in full force, and a great option for composing a basic look. Destroyed versions of the so-loved shirts are also welcome. Combine them with premium jeans, to form the best hi-lo fashion.
Some pieces, such as jeans, survive time and are great options for current fashion productions. Just let those with outdated modeling go, and invest in new models, such as wide-shoulder blazers and trendy trainers. The idea is to build a contemporary, somewhat modern look, not to make people think you’ve just left a thrift store!
