Adopt a sustainable fashion style

There is a great fashion trend that has left many people in doubt when they get to renovate their closet every other season: the capsule wardrobe. What is that, after all?
Let us help um understand the term that you have probably heard before, but aren’t quite sure about what it is: a capsule wardrobe is a wardrobe which carries only a small amount of pieces of clothing which can be easily combined among themselves. It is a minimalist style which values the most important, functional pieces, and ignores the ones that are only rarely worn.
Those who are up for it are dressed every day with their favorite items, not leaving any pieces for special occasions. The idea of the capsule wardrobe is to decrease and improve: more space, less money spent on clothes, more concern with the environment, less trousers, shirts, tees and socks occupying too much room in the closet.
Can’t imagine from where to start?
Easy… there are some nice tips to adequate your style to a capsule wardrobe. Usually, things work much more easily for those who already have a basic, practical fashion style, those who buy new pieces of clothing based on what they already own at home, those who accept that we don’t need much to dress well.
If you think about it, we always wear the same items of clothing most of the time anyway. On a daily basis, we ignore some less practical items, and we love the more classical ones, such as jeans, t-shirts and those boots you like so much. That is why the slow fashion trend added a current proposal for sustainability to this common habit.
For starters, save a day to organize your clothes. Remove from your closet the ones that you haven’t worn in ages, that simply don’t fit anymore, or that are out of fashion. Be honest here, don’t pity your clothes.
People tend to stick to about 40 items of clothing for the capsule wardrobe – socks and underwear included. So make sure you maintain those items that go with practically everything else.
In short, a capsule wardrobe is this: a collection of your very favorite items of clothing, the pieces you can’t live without, those you already wear every other day anyway.
Of course this is a change that should occur little by little – there’s no need for you to dump everything you own, nor impulsively buying new, basic items. In order to avoid unnecessary hassle, make a list of what may be missing and another one of the leftovers. There are loads of interesting tips online, too, as for example the number of trousers, t-shirts, jackets and socks you should keep in this case.
In order to have a capsule wardrobe, detach. Think minimalist!
