Cycling is in fashion!

In the midst of a hot climate and coming out of a Brazilian summer, we entered a pandemic in Brazil, with the arrival of Covid-19. Closed beach, vetted tours, closed gyms. Then an old acquaintance came on the scene: the bicycle. After the boom of running and the success of crossfit, cycling was more restricted to intense training, such as Iron Man or recreational use. But then the bicycle was considered a means of transport and a way of exercising to keep the body in shape without harming anyone with contamination by the new world enemy.

The search for the ideal bike and, of course, the appropriate clothes for cycling have intensified. The stores are practically not handling so many orders. In recent years, the mobility of cities has taken into account cycle lanes and cycle paths, a positive factor for the moment we are currently experiencing. All these connected factors generated a trend in clothing and accessories: the bike craze. Here I am not just talking about the bicycle, but about all the devices that are on the wish list of the appreciated, amateurs and professionals of cycling. Items like watches, sneakers, jackets and of course, the bike!

The windbreaker jacket is one of the main items of cyclist clothing and it exploded in fashion. Traditional sports brands have launched their hits, just as specific cycling brands have come to dominate the space. With features such as raincoat, training jacket and windbreaker, the pieces appear in traditional neon colors in cycling, due to the need to pedal in areas without much light and then stand out, logomania and also prints such as camouflage and sports motifs . A restricted market heated up with this trend: thrift stores started with original vintage windbreaker jackets (and often new ones, never used) and gained prominence, with prices equal (or higher) than the top brands.

Sports pants also stand out. The jogging models (with ribbon on the ankle) were already among us, however the market did not fail to offer thermal pants and men's leggings for the practice of sports. In addition to pants, thermal and sun-protection blouses are also in demand, becoming common clothing outside the bike path and becoming part of everyday life. Sweatpants are no longer part of the house's clothing and have hit the streets with premium versions. The sweatshirt also appears in sport shorts, to be used together with thermal pants, pure style!

Sports vests became more utilitarian, with pockets to carry necessities, such as keys, cell phones, bars for food. Just like slim packs, to carry security items. The taller socks, which help to warm up and also in the blood circulation, stand out, especially in very bright and bright colors. Many pieces for cycling do not leave the reflective stripes out, which helps in identifying the cyclist in places and times in low light.

Backpacks, helmets, tight shorts, gloves, sneakers, and training shirts. The list of clothing to wear and get on the bike is long, mainly because many pieces are essential safety items. Just like in any other sport, for a good performance, choosing the right clothing is essential. If you want to start something new or improve a hobby, a speed ride is on the rise!
