Clothing for every function

Design is functional. And if design is functional, then a designer seeks functional solutions for problems that need solving. If we consider that clothing serves a purpose, then most of them are created with that purpose in mind. In other words, solving a problem, fulfilling a need.
Not only uniforms fulfill aesthetic and functional needs, but all clothes serve a function and are in your wardrobe or in stores for a reason.
So, why have various types of pants and shirts? One for each function, meaning each occasion. You know that talk about clothes for staying at home, clothes for going out, and clothes for sports? It's all true, after all, each piece was developed to achieve a particular outcome. And this outcome entirely depends on choosing the appropriate clothing for what you intend to do.
Let's start with a jacket. If you're going out at night in a cold city, you'll need a warm, thick fabric jacket that blocks the cold or perhaps even the rain. It could be thermal, waterproof, wool, leather, lined, with fur collar. It just needs to keep you warm. Otherwise, you've chosen the wrong clothes. It will also depend on the time of
day and the occasion, whether you're going to the movies, a social gathering, or dinner with friends. The material and aesthetic function are important for the look of your jacket. Depending on the city and the common climate of the area, you might wear long and very warm coats that will stay in places like coat check and closets, only serving as shelter for when you arrive and then leave the party.
Now let's talk about a t-shirt. There are so many types and models of t-shirts that it seems they're all in the same category. But they're not! The material and, most importantly, the use of this t-shirt will guide your choice. Is it a casual t-shirt for a stroll with your girlfriend? Or a performance t-shirt for running or going to the gym? Or for sleeping, in a homewear style? All of these will be designed based on your needs, such as comfort, visual aesthetics, lightweight material that doesn't trap sweat, colorful and modern. Your first choice is where and for what purpose you'll use a t-shirt.
And pants, can they have that many functions? Yes, plenty! Pants are one of the most versatile pieces. They need to be loose or tight, can have reflective stripes, functional pockets for tools or objects, can be a hybrid piece and transform into shorts, can protect against animal bites. The list is extensive! Can you understand how functional
the choice of pants can be? At the very least, it's a bit uncomfortable to wear tailored pants while watching TV on the couch, or a bit awkward to arrive at the office wearing a dress shirt and sweatpants. So, there's no need to say much, as the initial aesthetic aspect isn't even met in this case...
When you choose your clothes, always remember the functional aspect. Organize your purchases and your wardrobe according to your lifestyle, as the right piece will give you much better results when used in the
correct way and for the right purpose. From today on, leave your running dry-fit shirts for the gym or workouts and don't use your good cotton shirts for exercising in the sun. Surely something will be lost
along the way!
