Textures in men's fashion

Men's fashion is a fan of fabrics with more subtle textures. However, in recent years, the men's market has gained notoriety and more importance in men's lives, mainly because the internet provides a fertile path to learn about and explore trends better, as well as a great environment for shopping.
The textures of fabrics create patterns that differentiate them and make them stand out. Both the textures made during the manufacture of the fabric and the textures made directly on the finished garments, the result almost acts as a print! Handicrafts have also appeared in a more modern way in men's clothing, such as macramé and crochet in some details and pieces. The appreciation of manual techniques is on the rise.
Many classic men's shirts are made from fabrics that we call maquinetados, which is a fabric that has undergone a mechanical process during its weaving to create a specific pattern or design on the surface that results in drawings, textures and geometric figures that are repeated throughout the fabric. Some are given threads of different colors and weights to stand out. And we are talking about traditional shirts, ties and suits, that is, traditional men's clothing. But nowadays, textures are much more visible and go beyond the basics, gaining style and differentiation.
Linen shirts and blouses, such as knits, already have a marked texture due to their structure. Braids and stitches are more prominent and even colorful. One texture that stands out a lot in men's fashion is ribbed, which is present in all styles and pieces. From basic to fashionable and also in traditional, showing that ribbed is an element present in men's fashion in bowling-style shirts to more modern t-shirts.
Natural fabrics, such as linen and cotton, have an apparent texture in some versions, and in addition to being comfortable, they provide good quality and timeless pieces. Pure linen shirts, which range from the most classic cuts to the most oversized, have a more rustic texture, wrinkling more and giving the piece personality. The high-quality cotton t-shirt itself has a knitted texture, giving the piece a softer touch.
On cold days, velvet still adds an important touch to men's fashion. Although not loved by everyone, corduroy, which creates more evident stripes along the length of the fabric, is common in blazers and pants. Italian velvet, which is shinier and softer, is common in formal wear, such as tuxedos and suits in neutral colors, such as black, navy blue and gray. However, it has recently taken on a more modern feel and has appeared in jackets and casual pieces, in vibrant colors such as green. The texture of velvet is soft and very apparent, which is why it divides opinions.
For those who don't want textures, ribs and very obvious handwork, more rustic fabrics can bring great textures to the look. They can even be used in layers combined in gradient tones, such as beige, off-white, browns and earthy tones. And get ready for summer by betting on light and present textures, in short-sleeved knitted blouses and shirts. It will be a highlight of the next season!
